Grand Designs ~ Homes I Love....

Yes, my first love is music....but, I have a second passion. Houses. 
...Or rather, homes. 

...Or rather, Pre-Loved Homes! 

So no surprise that I just LOVE the BBC program called Grand Designs! 

I love the whole process of taking a house that was once proud and proudly built, loved by both it's creator and it's subsequent owner/s, and is now in disrepair, sad, lonely and forgotten; left for dead, or just not loved anymore....taken once again into loving hands, looked over with loving creative ideas for it and faith in its potential, and then recreated into something Grand, something beautiful, something unique, but most importantly, a proud house, once again LOVED for all it's grand beauty, warmth and heart. I can then almost SEE the resurrected house sticking it's chest out in proud Joy and HappYness.

This never fails to leave me with that warm, fuzzy feeling, just soppy with little hearts filling my eye sockets and a sentimental tear in the corner of one eye. Happy. Here, once again, is a Happy house, loved and admired. Just makes me Happy.

And so, I share with you a bit of this HappY creativity here today. The videos used in this post, certainly do not represent my personal idea of a dream home (my kind of dream homes you can find in the side panel of this blog, to the right), but I loved that this couple took a typical, depressing little London semi-detached house, created a (shared!) picture in their  minds of the type of house they would love to live in, ignored that they lived in this dingy, dark, cramped little house, squashed between a row of similar little houses, and went ahead and created what they wanted, so beautifully. It is a delight to see what their minds created and relayed to the visions of a myriad of workers, to create the finished product which turned out to be a delight and a breath of fresh air where months before there was a claustrophobic old-fashioned multi-roomed, small, typical London semi-detached house. Well done, I thought. See what You think.....

And then there's a revisit to the house, some time later, after which time they'd put in the final finishing touches. My favourite areas of this house are, the Garden, the Kitchen, and the Music Room. Enjoy....
